bankruptcy-faqThis bankruptcy FAQ is designed to help you with the most common questions regarding bankruptcy.  If you still have a question regarding your case that isn't answered please contact us for a free, no obligation consultation.

First of all, the bankruptcy code requires that you submit all your pay advices from all your sources of income for the 60 days immediately preceding your filing, so this stuff is needed and necessary. There are multiple reasons why you may not have paystubs with you. Here is some info on this subject.

Disabled/Unemployed/Retired. You may not receive any paystubs because you may not be working. In that event, we just need to see a statement of your income. For example, if you get social security benefits, one copy of your social security statement or a copy of your bank statement showing direct deposit is sufficient.

Self-Employed. If you are self-employed, we need to get an idea as to what you have made in the past 6 months and what you have spent in the past 6 months. Bank statements, checks from clients are typically used to get an idea as what you have made and spent.
